Walking Bus

Today in assembly we had a special visitor.  Wanda the Walking School Bus.

Wanda was at BDS to encourage children to bike, scooter or walk to school.  Certificates were given out so to the children who use the walking school bus.  There were heaps of children.  The walking school buses would love more children.

 

We have 2 students who do the walking school bus regularly. 

Walt about Dissolving - Making Jelly

Dissolving is about stirring, mixing, jelly crystals and water.  We then had to put it in the fridge so it can go all floppy.  We saw Change.
WE LIKED EATING OUR JELLY.  IT IS YUMMY!  Some even licked the saucer clean.

Mother's Day Breakfast

Today, our mums came to have breakfast at school.  We gave them a bacon sandwich and scones with jam and cream.  As it is Asthma Awareness Week next week, people could buy easy breathe windmills to have the Asthma research. 

We love our mums.

Changes to Popcorn

 When we heated popcorn, it changed by popping.
So it went from dried hard corn seeds (kernels) to soft, white puffy things,

 We used the microwave to heat the corn.

 We liked eating the popcorn,

 It was yummy.

Welcome Back to School

Welcome back Room 2 to Term 2. 

This term our Inquiry unit is Kitchen Chemistry.  We are having a sport rotation on Mondays, and an arts rotation on Friday.
